Duties Schedule patient appointments accurately using ModMed EMR (Electronic Medical Records). Support front desk operations by managing patient intake procedures, verifying the accuracy of demographic and registration information, and assisting with clinic flow. Verify patient insurance coverage, including Medicare and health insurance policies, ensuring proper documentation review and coding compliance with CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes. Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures with professionalism, providing excellent customer service via phone communication and in person. Maintain medical records and electronic health records (EHR) management with meticulous attention to confidentiality policies aligned with HIPAA regulations. Assist with medical billing processes, including collection efforts related to outstanding balances while adhering to health information management standards. Coordinate care plans by liaising with clinical staff to ensure timely appointment scheduling and follow-up. Perform clerical tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and maintaining organized medical files in compliance with clinical confidentiality policies. Utilize Microsoft Office tools for documentation review, report generation, and office correspondence to support daily administrative functions. Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls efficiently and courteously. Experience Previous experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is preferred, with demonstrated proficiency in an electronic medical record Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding (ICD-9/10, CPT), and health insurance processes including Medicare is preferred. Proven ability to handle medical billing collections and documentation review confidently while maintaining accuracy under HIPAA guidelines. Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Demonstrated organizational skills in managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment are crucial for maintaining smooth clinic operations.
