Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Scheduler I for a top heavy civil infrastructure and construction client. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career construction professional to join a Project Controls team and build a long-term career in project scheduling. The Scheduler I will support the planning, development, and maintenance of Critical Path Method schedules for complex infrastructure projects, including bridges, highways, rail, and transit work. Working directly with a Senior Scheduler or Scheduling Manager, this person will help develop bid and baseline schedules, collect and enter project progress, prepare look-ahead schedules and monthly reports, complete schedule quality checks, and support risk, change, recovery, and claims-related scheduling activities. The organization is willing to train and develop a candidate who brings strong construction fundamentals, attention to detail, communication skills, and a desire to learn Oracle Primavera P6. The role offers structured, hands-on training and a defined career path toward becoming a Project Scheduler. • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent heavy civil field experience.
• 1-2 years of relevant construction experience, including field engineering, project engineering, scheduling support, or equivalent internship or co-op experience.
• Basic understanding of construction sequencing and how work is planned and executed in the field.
• Basic understanding of Critical Path Method scheduling concepts, including activity logic, durations, and critical path.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to review project information and identify milestones, constraints, phasing requirements, work-hour restrictions, seasonal restrictions, permitting requirements, utility dates, right-of-way dates, and liquidated damages.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and changing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter who takes direction well, asks questions, and works effectively as part of a team.
• Heavy civil construction experience, especially supporting bridge, highway, rail, transit, or other complex infrastructure projects.
• Experience on Alternative Delivery, public-private partnership, or design-build projects.
• Experience using Oracle Primavera P6. P6 expertise is not required because structured, hands-on training will be provided.
• Previous experience building, maintaining, or supporting CPM schedules.
• Field engineering or project engineering experience on heavy civil projects.
• Experience supporting project pursuits, estimates, bids, or baseline schedule development.
• Familiarity with Work Breakdown Structures, activity coding, calendars, logic ties, activity durations, constraints, lags, float, and open-end reviews.
• Knowledge of DCMA-style schedule quality metrics.
• Experience preparing two- to four-week look-ahead schedules.
• Experience producing Gantt charts, schedule exhibits, executive reports, or owner-facing schedule submissions.
• Familiarity with KMZ files, Google Earth site models, or work-zone graphics.
• Experience with quantity-to-duration calculations, construction production rates, time impact analyses, recovery schedules, or schedule fragnets.
• Experience tracking RFIs, change orders, delay events, and claims-related documentation.
