Medical Assistant/Surgery Scheduler Note:
Candidate must be local to the Denver Metro Area. Mountain View Surgical Associates is a dynamic surgical practice with 10 surgeons and 4 advanced practice providers. We provide surgical care across a broad spectrum of illnesses and participate in acute care surgical delivery at community hospitals and surgery centers. Our practice is searching for a medical assistant who will provide outstanding care for our patients. Position Summary The Medical Assistant has the responsibility of communicating and collaborating with both the healthcare team and the patient to identify and meet all needs of the patient while showing personal accountability for relationship-based care and organizational mission and core values. The Medical Assistant is responsible for scheduling surgeries and diagnostic imaging tests, coordinating care, proper chart documentation, maintenance of medical records, and assisting with front office duties. May be required to travel between office locations as needed. Education/License/Certifications Requirements Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant (preferred) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers strongly preferred Job Duties (include but not limited to the below) Schedule surgeries and diagnostic imaging tests within an appropriate time-frame Track diagnostic imaging and surgery test results Answer patient phone calls and communicate patient post-operative concerns to the physicians Maintain timely communication with patients and facilities Room patients, obtain and record vitals, health history, medications, and allergies in electronic patient charts Referral management and coordination of care with other specialists Appointment follow up Fax physician correspondence to referring providers Cover the front desk (patient check-in and check out) if needed Obtain medical records prior to patient appointments and maintain medical records throughout patient care Document management to ensure complete patient records Efficiently manage physician schedules (meetings/clinic/trauma call) Position Perks Schedule flexibility of one half-day off per week after 90 days of employment Work from home options after 90 days of employment
