Part-Time Operations & Bookkeeping Associate Location:
Traverse City, MI (hybrid — remote with a monthly in-person meeting)
Hours:
~8-15 hours/week, flexible schedule

Part-time employee About the Role North Point is a boutique start-up consulting firm based in Traverse City, MI, looking for a highly organized, self-directed professional to manage our financial operations and business documentation. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives working independently, enjoys creating order out of ambiguity, and wants a flexible, part-time role with a small, growing firm. This role is the cornerstone of monthly operations — keeping our books accurate, our documentation organized, and our processes clearly defined as we grow. Responsibilities Prepare monthly client invoices Manage and reconcile expenses in QuickBooks Classify revenue and expenses accurately and consistently Conduct basic financial analysis and produce monthly financial reports Maintain and organize business documentation and our digital document repository Document core business processes and workflows for internal reference Support the development of scalable processes and systems as the business grows (additional/stretch responsibility) What We're Looking For Exceptionally organized, with strong attention to detail Strong written communication skills, especially for documenting processes clearly Comfortable working independently with little to no supervision Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data organization, etc.) Experience with QuickBooks (or similar accounting software) is a plus, but not required Able to attend in-person meetings once per month in Traverse City Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment where processes are still being built Prior experience in bookkeeping, operations, or administrative support for a small business or consulting firm is a plus Bachelor's degree (ideally in business, accounting, or related field) or equivalent experience directly related to core tasking of this role Why This Role Flexible Hours — set your own schedule within a ~8-15 hour/week range Autonomy — you'll own this function with minimal oversight Growth Potential — opportunity to shape how the business scales its operations Significant Impact — small, collaborative team with direct influence over key business decisions If interested, please submit your resume and a brief cover letter.
