Job Description
The Operations Coordinator supports the daily planning, scheduling, and movement of customer freight. This role works closely with drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure shipments are tracked, operational issues are resolved quickly, and service expectations are met. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines. Hour First Shift Schedule Pay:
$80,000
•$95,000 based on experience Key ResponsibilitiesTransportation Operations Use Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to plan, schedule, and track customer shipments. Review and update load assignments as needed. Dispatch and support drivers throughout the delivery process. Monitor truck and trailer locations, availability, and utilization. Coordinate preventive maintenance and schedule equipment for service. Track daily freight movement and provide timely shipment updates. Identify delays, service issues, and other exceptions and communicate them to management. Create and maintain exception reports documenting operational issues and delays. Serve as backup support for other team members during periods of high volume or staff absences. Customer Service & Process Improvement Resolve customer questions, problems, and complaints in a timely and professional manner. Work closely with customers, drivers, and internal teams to ensure operational procedures are followed. Provide reports and shipment information to internal and external customers as needed. Identify opportunities to improve workflows, streamline processes, and increase operational efficiency. Assist with special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Performance & Accountability Monitor and report driver performance. Organize daily workflows, establish priorities, and ensure work is completed accurately and on time. Maintain reliable attendance and consistently meet job responsibilities. Follow up promptly on outstanding issues and ensure they are resolved. Skills & Abilities Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, and skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable communicating by phone, email, radio, and other operational communication tools. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify practical solutions. Excellent attention to detail and follow-up. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet frequent deadlines. Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Ability to process, verify, and maintain accurate operational information and data. Collaborative team player who demonstrates respect, integrity, and accountability. Willingness to bring new ideas and a continuous improvement mindset to the team. Qualifications 1-3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, operations coordination, dispatch, or a similar role. Experience using a Transportation Management System (TMS) preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel. Experience working in a fast-paced transportation or logistics environment preferred.
