Job Description
Job Summary A manufacturing company in Greenville, SC is seeking an experienced Material Control Specialist for a contract/temporary opportunity supporting production, inventory planning, and material availability. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented supply chain professional who understands how accurate material planning keeps manufacturing operations running smoothly. The Material Control Specialist will work closely with suppliers, carriers, logistics partners, production teams, and internal supply chain groups to ensure the right parts are available in the right quantities at the right time. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and monitor material requirements to support production schedules and prevent shortages.
- Manage inventory levels while balancing production needs and minimizing excess or obsolete materials.
- Perform material planning, data processing, and inventory updates within SAP and other planning systems.
- Support new part introductions, part run-in/run-out, and engineering or technical changes.
- Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and logistics partners to resolve material availability and delivery issues.
- Analyze inventory, supplier performance, and supply data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Compensation and Benefits

$30.00 to $43.00 per year. Required Qualifications and Skills- Plan and manage material availability to support ongoing manufacturing production.
- Monitor inventory levels, supplier performance, and potential supply chain issues.
- Use SAP, MRP, and material planning systems to maintain accurate planning data and records.
- Collaborate with production, logistics, suppliers, and internal teams to support plant operations.
- 2+ years of professional experience in Material Planning or Material Control.
- 1-3 years of Supply Chain Management experience.
- 1-3 years of Material Control or Production Control experience.
- Experience with Material Requirements Planning, MRP, strongly preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- SAP experience strongly preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, International Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience. Preferred Qualifications
- German or Spanish language skills are a plus.
- Experience supporting new part introductions, engineering changes, or part run-in/run-out processes.
- Experience analyzing supplier performance metrics and inventory trends.
- Background working with carriers, logistics partners, and manufacturing suppliers.
