Job Description
The Operations & Grants Coordinator provides essential administrative, financial, and grant compliance support to Catawba Area Agency on Aging (AAA). This position is responsible for managing grant reporting and compliance activities for federal and state aging funds — including Older Americans Act (OAA) and Home and Community Based Service Grant (HCBS) programs — performing day-to-day bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping for the AAA, and providing limited, administrative-level human resources support. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple funding streams and administrative priorities simultaneously. This position does not have supervisory authority and refers policy-level HR and personnel matters to the Executive Director or the organization's designated Human Resources office.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Working knowledge of grant management principles, including budgeting, compliance monitoring, and reporting; familiarity with the Older Americans Act and/or Home and Community Based Services Grant is preferred. Working knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles, including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding personnel and financial records. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines across several funding sources simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and accounting or fund-tracking software; ability to learn state-specific systems such as Servtracker & Caseworthy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with funders, auditors, providers, and staff. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in financial and compliance recordkeeping.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, human services, or a related field required. A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in grant management, bookkeeping/accounting, or nonprofit or government administration required; experience with an Area Agency on Aging or similar human services agency preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the above.Pay:
