Job Description
Production Scheduler
- CNC Machining (Monday through Friday 8:00 am
- 4:30 pm) InsulFab Plastics
- Spartanburg, SC InsulFab Plastics is a Spartanburg-based specialty manufacturer known for tight-tolerance CNC machining and stamping of high-performance plastic materials.
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and longer-term production schedules for CNC machining operations.
- Learn the current scheduling process and identify opportunities to improve it through automation and better use of our ERP
- Schedule jobs based on customer due dates, machine capabilities, available capacity, labor, materials, tooling, and current shop priorities.
- Release jobs to production and ensure work orders are ready to move through the shop.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to address delays, machine downtime, material issues, staffing, or changing customer priorities.
- Coordinate with purchasing and production personnel to ensure required materials, tooling, and other resources are available when needed.
- Maintain accurate production schedules and communicate changes to appropriate personnel.
- Monitor machine capacity and identify and solve potential bottlenecks before they affect customer delivery dates.
- Work closely with management, machinists, setup personnel, purchasing, quality, and other departments to keep production moving.
- Track customer delivery requirements and help ensure jobs are completed and shipped on schedule.

to manage and monitor production information, work orders, scheduling, and job status.- Maintain and utilize scheduling and production information through Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
- Help identify scheduling conflicts and develop practical solutions to keep production on track.
- Provide management with updates regarding production status, capacity, potential delays, and upcoming workload.
- Perform other production planning and coordination duties as needed.
Required:
- Previous manufacturing experience is required.
- Previous production scheduling, planning, or coordination experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production flow and the ability to prioritize multiple jobs and competing deadlines.
- Experience working with or around CNC machining operations is strongly preferred.
- Experience with an ERP/MRP system; JobBOSS experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
- Good mathematical and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both office personnel and shop-floor employees.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions, and adjust priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Must meet ITAR requirements: applicants must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or otherwise qualify as a U.S. person as defined by ITAR. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience scheduling CNC mills, lathes, Swiss machines, 5-axis machining, or similar equipment.
- Experience with capacity planning and machine utilization.
- Experience working in a job shop or high-mix/low-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience automating or improving scheduling processes using an ERP system
- Familiarity with manufacturing lead times, routing, setup times, material requirements, and production constraints.
- Background or education in business, accounting, operations, manufacturing, or a related field.
- Experience working with JobBOSS or a similar manufacturing ERP system.
