Job Description
Vehicle Reconditioning & Lot Maintenance Specialist Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Vehicle Reconditioning & Lot Maintenance Specialist to help prepare vehicles for sale and maintain a clean, organized, and professional dealership/lot environment. This position is responsible for thoroughly cleaning and detailing vehicles prior to being photographed and placed for sale, as well as maintaining the appearance and organization of the vehicle lot and surrounding property. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, has strong attention to detail, works efficiently, and understands the importance of presenting clean, well-maintained vehicles to customers. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Vehicle Detailing & Reconditioning Thoroughly wash and clean vehicles inside and out. Vacuum and clean carpets, floor mats, seats, dashboards, consoles, and other interior surfaces. Shampoo and extract carpets and upholstery as needed. Clean windows, mirrors, door jambs, vents, and other hard-to-reach areas. Clean and dress tires, wheels, and wheel wells. Remove dirt, stains, odors, and other interior or exterior imperfections when possible. Wax, polish, and perform basic paint finishing as needed. Ensure vehicles are clean, presentable, and sale-ready before being placed on the lot. Perform final quality checks to ensure vehicles meet company appearance standards. Prepare vehicles for photographs, online listings, and customer viewings. Lot Organization & Vehicle Movement Keep vehicles organized and properly positioned throughout the lot. Move vehicles as needed for detailing, photographs, customer access, or lot organization. Maintain an organized inventory layout so vehicles are easy to locate. Keep vehicles presentable while they are on the lot. Wash and maintain inventory vehicles as needed. Assist with receiving, staging, and preparing vehicles for sale. Property & Lot Maintenance Keep the vehicle lot clean, organized, and free of trash and debris. Pick up trash and maintain the cleanliness of parking and customer areas. Sweep and clean sidewalks, driveways, entrances, and other areas around the property. Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the dealership/property. Help maintain detailing areas, equipment, and supplies. Properly store cleaning products, tools, and equipment when not in use. Report maintenance issues, vehicle damage, or other concerns to management. Assist with general property and lot upkeep as needed. Qualifications & Requirements Previous automotive detailing experience preferred but not required. Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Dependable, punctual, and reliable. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely operate vehicles and maintain a valid driver's license. Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, bending, lifting, and working around vehicles. Ability to follow instructions and company standards. Professional attitude and appearance. Must be able to work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality. They should be self-motivated, organized, hardworking, and able to recognize when a vehicle or area needs additional attention without always being asked. This is an important position because the condition and presentation of our vehicles and property directly impact the customer's first impression of our business.
