Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Operations Coordinator to join our team and drive efficiency across our transportation and logistics functions. In this vital role, you will coordinate daily operations, manage freight and vehicle dispatching, and ensure seamless communication between departments, drivers, and clients. Your proactive approach will help optimize supply chain processes, uphold safety standards, and deliver exceptional customer service. Responsibilities Coordinate road transportation operations by scheduling shipments, dispatching vehicles, and managing freight movements using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management. Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve delivery efficiency. Maintain accurate data entry related to shipments, deliveries, and inventory using Microsoft Office tools and specialized vehicle dispatch software. Communicate effectively with drivers, suppliers, customers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems and phone call management protocols while adhering to professional phone etiquette. Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations by overseeing vehicle dispatching procedures, documentation, and safety standards. Manage shipping & receiving processes, including coordinating freight pickups and deliveries with 3PL providers and internal logistics teams. Support supply chain activities by analyzing transportation data to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and proposing solutions for continuous improvement. Skills Strong knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, and transportation planning principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting, data entry, and communication purposes. Experience with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms. Familiarity with road transportation operations, fleet management software, vehicle dispatching tools, and shipping & receiving procedures. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills for internal coordination via multi-line phone systems and external customer service interactions. Analysis skills to interpret logistics data and optimize freight routes while ensuring compliance with DOT regulations. Ability to handle phone call management professionally while demonstrating strong phone etiquette in high-volume settings.
