Full Job Description Job Purpose and Summary:
Production Scheduler is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the production process. Duties include a specific focus on the materials and goods required in the production phase, ensuring the working space is properly maintained to have optimal performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan production schedules to meet delivery commitments, organize and monitor production progress to schedule via the dispatch lists, identify risks and communicate to management, monitor future delivery commitments and communicate release of Jobs into WIP as appropriate. Confirm all open production Jobs are addressed, updated and changed according to current reporting and priority level in the dispatch lists. Research and resolve issues on Jobs/work orders which are projected to be past due Communicating with Customer Service, Sales, Purchasing, Shipping, and Production teams Provide detailed commitments for new orders Input information into computer system Prepare management reports as required. Analyze material usage variances Ensure Production Order life cycle is completed to established goals Manage inventory plans to established targets Provide backup support to production planning team Conduct rough cut capacity planning prior to publishing a dispatch list in which significant changes have occurred. Act as internal educator and consultant on scheduling issues, providing education and training throughout the company to improve company-wide understanding of scheduling functions. Identify, negotiate, and resolve conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability and order-promising integrity. Maintain planned scheduling parameters, such as lead times, lot sizes, safety stocks, delivery times, and order file data for all scheduled items. Establish a working line of communication with all company functions. Inform management when demand cannot be met and recommend alternatives on how the requested demand could be satisfied.
Qualifications:
5+ years of related manufacturing experience in an MRP/ERP environment Degree preferred but equivalent relevant experience will be considered ERP experience required, PLEX experience a plus In depth understanding of routings, multi-level bills of material, lead times, and Supply Chain concepts Ability to conceptualize supply chain/inventory flow Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors and other employees of the organization. Excellent organizational and Customer Service skills Strong leadership abilities Excellent computer skills. Must have MS Office skills including Access, Excel, Word, and PP Ability to make effective decisions, seek to find solutions to problems, work independently and investigate inquiries and respond in a timely manner. Attention to detail with ability to act & think analytically and use mathematics to meet job requirements Excellent written and verbal communication skills Team skills with sense of urgency and ability to meet schedule requirements APICS training a plus
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
