We don't just treat symptoms, we create a treatment plan that gets you back to doing everything you love free of pain. Job Purpose We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgical Scheduler to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating surgical appointments, managing patient schedules, and ensuring seamless communication between patients, surgeons, and administrative staff. This role requires proficiency in various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding, and insurance processes. Bilingual abilities and clinic experience are highly valued to provide exceptional patient service and support efficient clinic operations. Duties and Responsibilities Schedule surgical procedures with the patient accurately within the EMR systems such as eClinicalWorks. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate smooth billing processes. Review medical documentation including care plans, medical records, CPT codes, ICD-9/ICD-10 codes, and ensure proper documentation review. Coordinate with physicians, patients, and insurance companies through various forms of communication to confirm appointment details and address scheduling conflicts. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security. Assist with medical billing and coding tasks related to surgical procedures when necessary. Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and patient service skills. Perform administrative support tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing office documentation efficiently. Support front desk operations by handling patient intake, appointment confirmations, and providing exceptional customer service. Utilize computer skills to update records accurately in various office management software like Medisoft or similar platforms. You will love it here if you: Prior experience in a medical office setting is preferred, especially within clinics specializing in surgery or specialty care.
