Roofing Supply Operations Assistant

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Roofing Supply Store Assistant, where you'll be the backbone of our retail operation, ensuring smooth and efficient service for our customers and suppliers. Responsibilities Assist customers in selecting roofing supplies and provide expert product recommendations based on project needs Manage inventory levels through accurate data entry and inventory control practices using order management systems and ERP platforms Support warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, equipment repair, and forklift operation to ensure timely stock replenishment Coordinate with suppliers for procurement management, sourcing, and negotiation to secure competitive pricing and reliable delivery schedules Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, demand planning data, and pricing information using CMMS and AS400 systems Monitor supply chain processes to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in logistics and inventory management Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring a positive shopping experience Experience Prior experience in warehouse management, supply chain management, or automotive dealership environments is highly desirable Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, as well as order management systems like AS400 or similar platforms Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, OEM parts sourcing, auto body repair, HVAC systems, or automotive service will be advantageous Hands-on experience with forklift operation, equipment repair, shipping & receiving procedures, and inventory control practices Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent data entry skills to accurately process orders and manage procurement activities Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers and manage procurement processes effectively Customer service experience in a retail or dealership setting will help you excel in assisting clients with their roofing needs Embark on this exciting journey with us!
