Core Responsibilities Monitor open work orders across all production departments and flag jobs at risk of missing their scheduled ship date Partner with department leads to keep workloads progressing on schedule Communicate potential delays, bottlenecks, and resource constraints to Schedulers and Managers early Strengthen coordination across production, purchasing, and engineering Track material availability and work with purchasing and receiving to expedite critical inbound materials Walk the production floor regularly to verify job location, WIP status, and any holds affecting on-time delivery Review drawings and specifications as needed to confirm correct materials, tooling, and quantities; document the production process Identify and implement efficiency improvements on new and existing jobs in coordination with scheduling and operations leadership Maintain accurate order status records in current and future ERP systems and update estimated completion dates based on real floor conditions Surface recurring expediting patterns and root causes so leadership can drive permanent fixes Perform all duties safely and in accordance with company safety policies and our

2015 Quality Management System What You Bring Minimum 2+ years of expediting, production control, or scheduling support experience in a manufacturing environment Solid mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and specifications Experience tracking jobs in Excel and/or ERP systems (JobBoss experience is a plus) Excellent communication skills and persistent follow-through that still maintains strong working relationships on the floor Comfort working interchangeably on the shop floor and in an office setting throughout the day Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for order tracking and status reporting Ability to organize your own workload, set daily priorities without close supervision, stay positive as priorities shift, and treat team members and supervisors with patience and courtesy Physical Requirements Safely handle and lift parts, materials, or equipment up to 35 lbs as needed Stand and walk on the shop floor for extended periods Bend, stoop, and reach at production work centers Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements (measuring instruments and computer use) Occasionally move materials using a pallet jack or with assistance from production personnel This role operates in a combination of shop floor and office settings within a precision metal fabrication environment. Shop floor conditions may include exposure to machinery, noise, metal shavings, dust, fluids, and chemicals. Cut-resistant gloves and safety glasses are required and provided based on task and area.
