An essential function of this position is the ability to work in person and physically report for work on site. This position requires a full background investigation conducted by the Security and Crisis Readiness Department. 7.5 hours/day
JOB SUMMARY
The security operations specialist works in the Security Operations Center (SOC) and is responsible for the execution of the emergency communication process during emergencies and incident response. The position works for Risk Management and Security and manages a high volume of radio and telephone communications to foster situational awareness and facilitate PWCS incident management operations. This position involves coordinating, receiving, interpreting, and relaying information between school administration, PWCS Central Office, anonymous tip lines, alarm companies, appropriate staff, the Prince William County Department of Public Safety Communications, and the public. This position is considered an essential position requiring the ability to report to work during poor weather conditions, or other emergencies, and requires a non-traditional work schedule of rotating days, evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays. This position performs work under the supervision of the SOC administrative coordinator.
