Job Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Computer Support 1 for a contract opportunity in Newport News, VA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
): o Associate's Degree and 0 years of experience. 2 years of related experience can be substituted for Associate's degree. 4 years of non-related experience can be substituted for Associate's degree. o Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Control-M, Tivoli and Network Manager or equivalent. o Familiarity with a ticketing system (i.e., SMAX, HPSM). o Good verbal and written communications required for gathering/supplying details about job failures from/to analysts and communicating with management and team leads. o Quick Learner and self-starter ( working under limited supervision). o Effective problem-solving and attention to details. o Works well under pressure, while multi-tasking.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs a variety of duties in support of a computer, network (LAN/WAN), and/or client server environment. Processes and monitors production batch job processing in a multi-system environment. Observes equipment and processes via monitoring software and monitors consoles for operator messages or error indicators. May perform clerical work incidental to machine operations such maintaining production records, data center and visitor badging logs, and team shift reporting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
(DESIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
): o Datacenter operations experience not required but preferred.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
High school diploma is required. School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS
5/40 workweek. 2nd shift; 3:30 pm - 11:30 PM or 3rd shift; 11:30 PM - 7:30 AM. Weekends and holiday shift work will be needed
