Call Center Scheduler

Job Description

The Call Center Scheduler serves as a key point of contact for individuals wishing to donate items to Habitat ReStore. This position answers incoming donation calls, provides excellent customer service, and efficiently schedules eligible donation pickups for the Logistics Department. By ensuring donor inquiries are handled promptly and pickups are coordinated effectively, the Call Center Scheduler helps maintain a steady flow of donated merchandise to support inventory needs at all three Habitat ReStore locations. Habitat ReStore is a nonprofit home improvement store and donation center offering new and gently used furniture, appliances, home goods, building materials, and more to the public at a fraction of retail prices. Proceeds from Habitat ReStore help fund Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg's mission to build and sell affordable homes to local families while also promoting reuse and reducing waste in our community. Competitive salary and benefits Work/life balance supported by generous PTO and holidays off with pay Monthly and annual bonuses Career development and promotion opportunities Casual working environment Weekends off Primary Duties and Responsibilities Provide superior customer service while answering and returning phone calls or emails to schedule donation pickups Ensure call center maintains an 80% or higher call answer average Obtain and accurately enter donor contact information, pickup addresses, item descriptions, and other necessary details into the scheduling system. Communicate regularly with donors to schedule, update and confirm pickups Assist donors with questions regarding acceptable and unacceptable donation items, pickup requirements, and the donation process. Screen donation for quality and value while on the phone or over email Schedule donation pickups accurately and efficiently, considering driver availability, geographic location, route capacity, and other scheduling requirements. Work proactively to improve donor relations All other duties as assigned by the Logistics Manager, ReStore Directors or CEO/COO as needed to support the Habitat for Humanity mission. Qualifications and Requirements Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with a wide variety of individuals. Ability to accurately type 30+ words per minute while on the phone, including use of web-based forms Proficient in Google Suite/Workspace Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple calls, requests, and scheduling priorities. Strong attention to detail, particularly when recording donor information and scheduling pickups. Ability to exercise sound judgment when determining whether donations meet established pickup guidelines. Ability to remain professional, patient, and courteous when handling difficult conversations or donor concerns. Ability to sit for long periods Ability to maintain reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work remotely during inclement weather and other approved closures while maintaining productivity and responsiveness Work Environment This position primarily works in an office and call center environment and requires frequent telephone and computer use. The employee must be able to remain focused while managing multiple calls, scheduling requests, and interruptions throughout the workday.
