Job Description

Jackson Hole Jewelry Company Operations Associate Full-Time | On-Site — Jackson, WY | About Us Jackson Hole Jewelry Company is a fine jewelry retailer based in Jackson, Wyoming, serving customers in-store and online through our Shopify Plus storefront. Every piece we ship is high-value, which means our operations demand precision, accountability, and care at every step. Position Summary The Operations Associate owns two things: the flow of product in and out of the building, and the upkeep of the building itself. You will manage all shipping and receiving — fulfilling Shopify orders, booking insured shipments through Parcel Pro and Zing, and inspecting inbound merchandise — while keeping the facility maintained, stocked, and running smoothly. This role suits someone who is highly detail-oriented, thrives on checklists and repeatable systems, and takes pride in nothing slipping through the cracks. Roles & Responsibilities Shipping & Fulfillment Pick, verify, package, and ship all outbound orders from Shopify accurately and on time. Create insured shipping labels through Parcel Pro and Zing; select correct coverage levels for high-value pieces and follow all carrier and insurer requirements (signature confirmation, no-tell packaging, drop-off protocols). Track every shipment through delivery; proactively resolve exceptions, delays, and claims with carriers and insurers. Update order and fulfillment status in Shopify so records always match reality. Maintain shipping supplies, packaging materials, and branded presentation inventory; reorder before running out. Receiving Receive, open, inspect, and count all inbound shipments (vendor orders, memos, customer repairs, returns) against packing slips and POs. Log received items promptly and accurately into inventory; flag discrepancies, damage, or shortages the same day. Route received items to the right place — sales floor, safe, repair queue, or returns processing. Building & Facilities Maintenance Handle day-to-day upkeep: lighting, fixtures, displays, back-of-house organization, and general repairs within your ability. Schedule and oversee vendors for anything beyond in-house repair (HVAC, plumbing, security systems, cleaning). Keep the store, workspace, and shipping area clean, organized, and safe; maintain supply levels for the building. Perform routine walkthroughs using a checklist and address issues before they become problems. Systems & Process Follow and improve written procedures for shipping, receiving, and maintenance; document anything undocumented. Maintain accurate records so any shipment, package, or repair can be traced in seconds. Qualifications Exceptionally detail-oriented — you double-check addresses, counts, and coverage amounts by habit. Systems- and process-minded; comfortable following checklists and SOPs exactly, every time. Experience with Shopify (or similar e-commerce platform) preferred; experience with Parcel Pro, Zing, or insured/high-value shipping a strong plus. Trustworthy and discreet — you will handle high-value merchandise daily; background check required. Handy and self-sufficient with basic maintenance and comfortable coordinating outside vendors. Reliable, punctual, and able to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods.
