Farm Operations Associate — Indoor Hydroponic Farm Full Time Position Job Description We're looking for a hands-on, full-time Farm Operations Associate to join our indoor vertical hydroponic farm. You'll work directly alongside the farm owner-operator, helping run the day-to-day cycle of harvesting, planting, packaging, and maintaining our tower growing system. This is physical, detail-oriented work in a controlled-environment agriculture setting — perfect for someone who takes pride in consistency, cleanliness, and doing things the right way every time, not just the fast way. We grow lettuce and microgreens on a vertical tower system, supplying distributors, education, healthcare, and retail customers. Because our product goes out the door with a food safety and traceability standard behind it, we need someone who can follow procedures precisely and flag problems before they become bigger ones. Responsibilities Execute harvest, planting, and transplanting tasks on our Monday/Wednesday/Friday production schedule, plus supporting tasks the rest of the week Rotate and manage plants through the vertical tower monorail system Pack, weigh, and label lettuce and microgreens for delivery, following food safety and traceability protocols (lot coding, batch records) Complete daily tasks covering cleaning, sanitation, and equipment checks Monitor plant health and flag signs of disease, pests, or stress to the owner Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary growing and packing environment Assist with basic equipment maintenance (pumps, irrigation lines, lighting) and report issues promptly Help load and stage orders for delivery or pickup Follow all food safety and biosecurity procedures without exception Requirements Available for full-time, consistent weekly hours including Monday/Wednesday/Friday production days Comfortable with physical work: standing for extended periods, bending, lifting up to 40-50 lbs, repetitive motion Strong attention to detail, especially around food safety and labeling accuracy Able to follow written procedures and checklists closely No prior farming experience required — we'll train you on our specific system Agricultural, food service, warehouse, or production experience a plus Must be able to pass a background check Nice to Have Interest in sustainable agriculture or local food systems Prior agricultural experience Experience with food handling or a food handler's certification Basic mechanical aptitude (comfortable troubleshooting simple equipment issues)
