THE POSITION

In our Shipping & Receiving department, you are responsible for managing relationships with external and internal partners. This position is fast paced and requires critical thinking skills and the ability to multitask. Perform basic warehouse duties including shipping, packing, loading, unloading and sorting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage & prioritize incoming requests from multiple sources (i.e. web-based tools, email, phone calls)
• Perform as required inspection of in-coming packages and duly record conditions for eventual damage claims
• Perform as required inspection of in-coming customer's article, record conditions and inform promptly shop managers in case of damage
• Ensure that customer's articles are promptly routed to the shops
• Ensure availability of packaging material
• Prepare appropriate packaging for the shipment of materials and equipment in compliance with customer's instructions
• Ensure proper disposal of all recyclable shipping materials

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to work in an ERP system, (e.g. Sage or SAP preferred, but not required)
• Solid knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures
• Understanding of governmental regulations and reporting requirements
• Understand of related auditing and IT functions
• Knowledge of the proper marking of boxes to ship dangerous goods, specifically Lithium batteries.
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Knowledge in MS Office Tools (Word, Excel & Outlook, Power Point)
• Minimum 1-2 years of related experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to organize, coordinate, and direct projects.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Standing, bending and lifting, sometimes for long periods of time. Must have the ability to lift at least 50 lbs
• This position requires onsite performance due to need for frequent interactive involvement with other employees and departments

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
