Public Safety - Fire Service Communications Westnet LLC is a leading provider of first responder communication systems serving fire departments, military bases, and 911 dispatch centers nationwide. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our Huntington Beach team. The position will include standard shipping and warehouse duties such as preparing shipments, handling documentation, printing labels, organizing materials, coordinating with internal teams, conducting monthly inventory counts, and working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should have strong bilingual communication skills, solid computer proficiency, good organization, reliability, accuracy, and the ability to follow procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and adhere to all facility safety policies and procedures, particularly within the warehouse environment.
  • Effectively plan and utilize time and resources to meet business needs and operational objectives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and work-ready environment to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Prepare products for packaging and shipment, including packaging materials, carton labeling, and shipping documentation.
  • Maintain positive communication and collaborative working relationships across all departments.
  • Manage the shipment and receipt of products, materials, and supplies to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Conduct monthly inventory counts.
  • Communicate professionally with vendors, carriers, and delivery drivers to support efficient operations and strong business relationships.
  • Package consignments according to shipping schedules and business requirements.
  • Receive and unload incoming shipments; compare packing slips to purchase orders to verify shipment accuracy and process customer returns as needed.
  • Inspect inbound shipments for damage or defects, document discrepancies, and notify appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Maintain shipping, receiving, and inventory records; prepare routine reports and maintain department databases as needed.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as dollies, pallet jacks, and forklifts to load and unload materials and equipment.
  • May have to complete deliveries by driving a company truck or van to and from vendors or company errands such as mail or transportation industries.

  • Assist with facility and equipment maintenance as assigned by management.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Experience/Training/Education:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years of shipping and receiving or warehouse experience preferred
  • Forklift certification required within 90 days of hire; current certification preferred
  • Experience with FedEx and UPS shipping systems preferred
  • Experience with inventory control practices
  • Familiarity with international shipping procedures and palletized freight highly preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Central or similar ERP systems is a plus
  • Bilingual; English/Spanish candidates are encouraged to apply
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
General:
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while exercising sound judgment and working independently with minimal supervision. Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy. Basic office administration experience including data entry, filing, document management, scheduling, and general clerical support.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with management, coworkers, vendors, and customers. Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, quality control documents, and MSDS sheets. Bilingual communication skills, particularly in Spanish, are a plus.
Teamwork/Team Player Skills:
Posses strong commitment to team environment dynamics with the ability to contribute expertise and follow leadership directives at appropriate times. Thrive in a team environment and work well with others. Enjoy working as a team member as well as independently. Someone who can display being a team leader in addition to being a team player.
Computer:
Experience with material tracking systems. (example: FedEx and UPS websites). Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
Mathematical & Reasoning :
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must understand simple shop math.
Physical and Environmental Elements:
Physical Demands:
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. Ability to frequently lift and/or move packages and materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to talk and hear continuously.
Vision :
Ability to see close range (clear or corrected vision at 20 inches or less), Ability to see at distance (clear or corrected vision at 20 feet or more). Ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point (peripheral vision), Ability to see color, depth perception and ability to focus are high in this position.
Work Environment:
Work is primarily performed in a warehouse environment with standard warehouse equipment and moderate noise levels, including forklifts and shipping equipment.

Pay:
$22.25 - $26.00 per hour
