Job Description

At Layup Parts, we're developing the technology that will build the future. We're a manufacturing technology company replacing months of lead time with days, using proprietary software, automation, and advanced manufacturing systems built for speed. Our customers are inventing what's next, in aerospace, defense, robotics, and beyond. To keep up with them, manufacturing has to change. That's what we're building. We're looking for a shipping and receiving associate who will be responsible for the day-to-day movement of materials, components, and finished products into and out of our manufacturing facility. This role ensures incoming materials are properly inspected, documented, and entered into company systems and that outgoing products are packaged, labeled, documented, and shipped according to customer requirements. This is an entry-level role ideal for someone who is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and interested in developing experience in manufacturing, warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain.
What You'll Do:
Receiving:
Receive incoming materials, supplies, tooling, and other goods into Matrix, our proprietary company software Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and accompanying documentation. Inspect incoming material for visible damage, correct part numbers, quantities, condition, and required documentation. Verify material traceability information, including shelf-life and out-life requirements where applicable. Identify and quarantine potentially nonconforming materials and promptly escalate discrepancies to Leads. Coordinate with Inventory, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve receiving issues. Ensure received materials are properly identified and transferred to the appropriate inventory location.
Shipping:
Create packing slips and required documentation for daily shipments. Pick, pack, label, and prepare finished parts for shipment. Verify quantities, part numbers, customer addresses, purchase-order requirements, and shipping documentation before release. Package finished products appropriately to prevent damage during transportation. Support specialty packaging or crating requirements when needed. Process shipment and fulfillment transactions within Matrix, our proprietary company software. Coordinate pickups and deliveries with carriers and internal teams. Support local customer deliveries and material transfers when required. Maintain adequate shipping and packaging supplies. Safely operate forklifts and company vehicles as required. Maintain clean, organized, and safe shipping and receiving areas.
Basic Qualifications:
Be awesome! Be the kind of person you want to work with! Entry-level candidates with strong attention to detail may be considered. Any shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing experience preferred. Basic computer skills and ability to learn ERP/MES systems. Strong attention to detail, particularly when verifying part numbers, quantities, documentation, and shipping information. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Forklift certification or ability to become certified. Comfortable driving company vehicles including vans, trucks, and box trucks.
Additional Requirements:
Valid CA Driver's License with clean driving record Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying Must be willing to work in an open-aired environment lacking temperature controls Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed to meet critical deadlines Final compensation is based on your experience, skills, and what you bring to the table.
