Shipping and Receiving Associate Job Description Join a dedicated shipping team in an industrial manufacturing environment, supporting daily shipping and receiving operations while using forklifts and computer systems to manage inventory and workflow efficiently. Responsibilities Assist with daily shipping and receiving activities, including preparing, loading, and unloading materials and products. Operate a sit-down forklift safely to move, stage, and organize materials in the warehouse. Use computer systems to enter, update, and track shipping, receiving, and inventory data accurately. Support inventory control by counting, verifying, and organizing stock in designated storage areas. Work along an assembly line as needed to support production and ensure timely order fulfillment. Verify incoming shipments against packing lists or purchase orders to confirm accuracy and report discrepancies. Prepare outbound shipments by labeling, packaging, and staging materials for carrier pickup. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company policies and safety procedures. Collaborate with team members and leadership to meet daily production and shipping schedules. Work overtime when required to support production demands and on-time delivery. Essential Skills Experience in shipping and receiving operations. Ability to operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently. Basic computer literacy, including the ability to enter and retrieve data. Experience working in a warehouse environment with inventory handling. Comfort working in an industrial manufacturing setting. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials and documentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with inventory control processes. Experience working on or around an assembly line. Familiarity with warehouse inventory systems. Ability to work collaboratively within a shipping and warehouse team. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility that produces pole line equipment for major utility companies. You will work in a warehouse and production setting around heavy equipment, materials, and machinery. The position follows a day shift schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break, and requires comfort with overtime when needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsburg, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
