About Us Mrs. Nelson's Book Company is a leading wholesaler of K-12 books, supplying novels and textbooks to schools across the U.S. We partner with publishers to source new books, manage inventory in our warehouse, and fulfill orders for schools. Our in-house book bindery converts paperbacks into reinforced hardcovers, ensuring quality and durability for our customers. Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our warehouse team. This seasonal role supports the receiving, sorting, quality control, and packing of books for school orders. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, pays close attention to detail, and maintains excellent organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
Receive and inspect incoming book shipments from publishers, verifying accuracy against purchase orders. Sort books by school order using Excel and Salesforce for tracking. Clean and perform quality control (QC) inspections on books coming from the in-house bindery. Pack completed orders for shipment to schools, ensuring accuracy and care. Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with warehouse safety standards. Assist the warehouse manager with daily tasks and process improvements.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in warehouse, shipping/receiving, or inventory management is a plus. Proficiency with Excel and Salesforce (or willingness to learn). Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, non-climate-controlled warehouse (hot in summer). Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Reliable team player with strong communication skills.
Work Environment:
Full-time, seasonal position from immediate start through September. Work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse; summer temperatures can be warm.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM.
