Job Description

Overview Responsible for receiving, distribution, shipping, and warehousing hospital material. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of San Gabriel Valley Medical Center. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support San Gabriel Valley Medical Center's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
Responsibilities Specific Job Duties:
Fills requisitions on time and accurately to minimize interruptions of the daily operation. Delivers goods to designated areas on time and accurately. Makes sure all stored items are covered, dated, and identifiable with labels to ensure proper usage. Keeps all storage areas clean and organized to comply with established storage guidelines. Keeps all stored items 12" above the floor and at reachable height. Follow FIFO inventory method to ensure proper rotation of products. Keeps storage items in order by inventory sheet for better control of stock levels. Completes physical inventories in a timely manner as scheduled and according to established procedures. Assures every item is inventoried to assure continuity of service. Maintains accurate records on emergency pick-ups for better accountability. Communicates delivery problems to supervisor/director in a timely manner; e.g. incorrect amount, substitute items, delayed delivery schedule, damaged products, etc. Maintains traffic control and security in main storeroom during storeroom operating hours. Follows proper handling and infection control procedures. Follows established cleaning procedures. Protects department property and equipment. Performs other related duties as required. Qualifications Education/Training/Experience High school graduate or GED preferred One year warehousing preferred. Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish). Licenses/Certifications Current CA driver's license preferred; driver's license and insurability will be verified upon assignment of driving hospital vehicle.
