Full Job Description Summary :
The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for preparing shipments, maintaining records, and ensuring that all orders are processed accurately and efficiently. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Responsible for the day-to-day activities of the shipping department. Such activities include shipping, receiving, sanitation, maintenance, inventory control. Obtains merchandise from warehouse shelves to fill orders for items or special orders, carefully verifying information and quantities. Manually loads material or finished product on skid, or hand truck. Ensure that address labels and shipping instructions are correct. Responsible for general organization of the shipping department. Maintains a clean and safe workplace within the regulations of all OSHA local and state regulations. Recommends equipment requirements and replacements to upgrade and maintain shipping department working at maximum productivity and efficiency. Performs daily forklift inspection. Uses tools such as hammers and crowbars to remove strapping, open crates, and strap carts. Housekeeping (blow, sweep, mop) Shelf and tool organization Pulls items to be shipped, prepare containers for shipment, maintain accurate inventory, and facility maintenance Review of any shipping documents Ensure that all cargo is secured and handled properly. Communicate effectively with management regarding any delays or issues. Assist with loading and unloading of cargo as needed. Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients or passengers.
Skills and Knowledge requirement:
High school diploma or equivalent. Good communication skills. Spanish speaker is not mandatory, but it is a plus. Experience driving a Forklift Ability to maintain inventory control Punctual, reliable and conscientious with strong attention to detail and accuracy Able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment. The ability to multitask, prioritize and drive projects is a must. Strong problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently. Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in various environmental conditions Manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform tasks effectively

Additional duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management. Occasionally overtime might be required.
