Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an organized and reliable Shipping, Receiving, and Purchasing Clerk to manage our machine shop's warehouse logistics and material supply chain. You will handle the full lifecycle of materials, from ordering raw metals and tooling supplies to verifying incoming freight and preparing outgoing precision parts for delivery. The ideal candidate balances physical warehouse operations with administrative tasks in QuickBooks, ensuring our machining team always has the stock required to maintain production schedules.

Full-time Schedule:
Day shift, Monday - Friday (Hours to be determined) Key Responsibilities Shipping & Receiving (Approx. 70% of time)
Verify Shipments:
Inspect incoming raw materials (bars, plates, castings) and hardware for damage and accuracy against purchase orders.
Process Inventory:
Receive goods into QuickBooks and route materials to correct storage racks or machining cells.
Prepare Finished Goods:
Pack, weigh, label, and document outgoing precision machined parts securely to prevent damage during transit.
Logistics Coordination:
Schedule and coordinate outbound freight and parcel shipments using UPS, FedEx, DHL, and local LTL carriers. Purchasing & Supply Control (Approx. 30% of time)
Procure Materials:
Monitor stock levels and generate QuickBooks purchase orders for raw metals, cutting tools, hardware, and shop supplies.
Vendor & Quote Management:
Use Microsoft Outlook to request material test reports (MTRs), track lead times, and follow up on delayed orders.
Administrative Organization:
Maintain digital files of packing slips, certifications, and invoices using Microsoft 365.
Billing Reconciliation:
Match vendor invoices with original purchase orders and receiving logs to ensure pricing accuracy before accounting approval.
Qualifications & Skills Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience :
1-3 years in a manufacturing, machine shop, or industrial warehouse environment.
Software :
Proficient with QuickBooks (data entry, PO generation, receiving) and Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Technical Skills :
Ability to read packing slips, material certifications, and basic industrial labels. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and navigate a machine shop floor for short periods. Ability to safely lift, push, and pull metal stock and packages weighing up to 25 lbs. Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods to manage inventory and purchasing.
