Job Description The Shipping/Receiving Clerk will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring all items are accurately received, inspected, and documented. This role includes preparing packages for shipment, maintaining inventory records, and coordinating with carriers to ensure timely deliveries. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders or invoices Accurately record and track inventory using computer systems or shipping software Prepare and package outgoing shipments, including labeling and documentation Coordinate with carriers (UPS, FedEx, freight companies) to schedule pickups and deliveries Maintain organized storage areas and ensure materials are properly labeled and stored Perform routine inventory counts and assist with cycle counts Identify and report damaged or missing items Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding shipment status and discrepancies Operate basic warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified)
Qualifications and Requirements:
Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Good communication and teamwork skills High School diploma or equivalent required Basic computer skills (MS Office; experience with inventory systems a plus)
