Job Description

Job Summary:

The shipping department manager is responsible for managing all daily functions associated with the shipping department and personnel, along with assisting the team complete orders to ship by picking, packing and preparing to ship. Picking, packing, and shipping customer orders are essential shipping department duties. Shipping department manager must fulfill shipping orders by picking the right product from inventory and packaging the goods using the correct packing material to ensure quality that is up to company standards. Other tasks include creating a shipping label and packing slip for each item along with rating and scheduling shipment with the right carrier. Responsible for keeping records of all products shipped and received as well as provided updates to the Production Supervisor. The shipping manager will report to the production manager in the day-to-day operations at Fisher Athletic. Also make management aware of any issues if they should arise. A successful shipping manager must be a self-starter, dependable, responsible, detail oriented, thorough, work well with computers, and takes pride in their work.

Essential Job Duties:
The Shipping Dept Manager is responsible for, but not limited to:
  • Responsible for leading department to achieve the safety, quality, and efficiency objectives, as well as helping to maintain accurate clock in/out procedures
  • Manages the shipment and prompt receipt of all products, material and supplies and move to appropriate departments Collaborates and communicates with customer service, purchasing, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products Maintains a clean, neat, and member-ready area Engages with drivers with a positive attitude Help to train and mentor new employees on best practices, safety, and key productivity guidelines are being met Works on product staging; sleds / chutes / blasters • Proved management with tooling, supply/inventory requirements • Understand, comply and hold team accountable to policies, practices and procedures • Lead by example on all safety rules, procedures, compliance and performance standards and ensure all employees are following such rules and policies • Maintain a professional attitude • Report errors and product discrepancies to management as well as help determine actions needed to correct customer orders, help determine the root cause of errors • When necessary, operate safely required power tools, forklift, and equipment
Shipping and Receiving Manager Qualifications/Skills:

Management experience is required Receiving, stocking, and stacking in an organized manor Pulling, packing, and loading, being able to perform repetitive tasks Good written and verbal communication skills Strong sense of time organization and urgency with high attention to detail Able to work independently as well as able to lead/delegate within a team Being flexible to work on weekends if needed

  • The Ability to work in a varied environment (cold, hot, dry,)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced work environment
Pay:

$18.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
