Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving incoming materials, preparing outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently. This role is critical in supporting production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Duties & Responsibilities:
Receive and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips. Unload trucks and safely move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment. Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company and customer requirements. Generate shipping documentation, labels, bills of lading, and other required paperwork. Coordinate shipments with carriers and freight providers. Maintain accurate inventory records and perform cycle counts as needed. Organize and maintain warehouse and storage areas to ensure efficiency and safety. Investigate and report discrepancies, damaged goods, or shipping errors. Support production and purchasing departments by ensuring timely movement of materials. Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Abilities:
2+ years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred. Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification. Experience with inventory control systems, ERP software, or warehouse management systems preferred. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications. Ability to read shipping documents, packing slips, and inventory reports. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday. Capability to work in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
