Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Packaging / Shipping Technician to join our manufacturing team. The Shipping Technician is responsible for supporting the day-to-day efforts of the shipping team. This individual will work in all aspects of shipping, including parts picking and shipping, finished goods crating, and product staging. Our client base expects high accuracy and attention to detail, and this individual will need to possess these skills. Responsibilities Ensure order accuracy by picking the correct parts, packaging in a luxury manner, and ensuring shipping address is correct and the ERP system is updated accordingly. Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product final distribution. Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area. Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages. Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders. Locates and packs materials for shipping. Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product. Documents product shipment by recording units shipped. Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs. Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks, ships, and loading docks. Keeps inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean. Learns and adheres to workplace safety regulations. Qualifications
  • Previous shipping/receiving and crating/packaging experience, preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand Sales Orders and Quality Checklists.
  • Professional communication skills and the ability to share information across functions.
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Word and excel, ERP (NetSuite a plus). and email.
  • Ability to work with forklifts, pneumatic and battery powered tools.
  • Mechanical and technical skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and understand labels and written instructions.
  • Lifting requirements up to 80lbs, must be able to bend, twist and reach.
  • Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often very small.

Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
