SUMMARY The Receiving and Shipping Associate plays a critical role in incoming and outgoing deliveries to our clients. This position will receive and check-in all arriving packages, distribute them to the appropriate department, log the internal delivery as well as oversee the shipment of the packages. This includes working with UPS, FedEx, USPS, and other private vendors to ensure on time pick-up and delivery. The ideal candidate would also have experience with international shipping.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Receives incoming shipments. Process incoming shipments via barcode scanning system and maintain accurate records of received materials, and outgoing shipments on domestic and international goods. Verifies that orders are packaged correctly per instructions and completes necessary steps to complete shipment. Posts shipping charges and destination on delivery services and provides accurate information about the receipt of materials to facilitate the timely processing of orders. Prepare documentation for international shipping and customs such as SLI (Shipper's Letter of Instruction), Certificates of Origin, and other possible necessary forms. Provides rates for international and domestic shipments in Ship Station or WorldShip. Handles questionable freight pricing and/or invoices. Operate a forklift, pallet jack and/or order picker to move products around so that they are accessible and follow storage guidelines. Contribute to a safe work environment through continuous focus on housekeeping and safety. Interact with supervisor's, leads and/or other work groups with information exchanges related to immediate tasks. Participate in the implementation and contribution ideas and suggestions for continuous improvements to the distribution process in a group setting. Communicate with manager to rectify problems, such as damages or shortages. Work in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment. Demonstrate strong organization, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and problem solve. Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.

EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent education preferred. 1- 2 years of experience in shipping environment. Experience in international logistics environment. Attention to detail. Ability and willingness to learn. Warehouse/Fulfillment experience preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires the ability to stand for prolonged period of times as well as sit, stand, bend at waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull and lift with or without reasonable accommodation. Frequently use a ladder and drivable stock picker up to 25 feet high. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, and up to 70 pounds infrequently.
