Job Description

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for receiving materials, prepping and shipping orders, and maintaining accurate inventory records with the

D365 ERP

system. This role requires the ability to physically lift and carry materials and operate a fork truck.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Participates in the company's Zero-Incident Safety Culture and comply with all environmental and safety regulations. Coordinates and manages daily/weekly material transfers, inbound and outbound trucks, LTLs, and Fed-Ex Shipments. Communicates with incoming and outbound freight carriers for shipments and supervised the pre-staging and loading of finished goods. Properly uses hand held scan gun to pick and move materials to load. Receives and inspects vendor deliveries for quality and accuracy Stages, manages, and places raw materials and finished goods in proper warehouse locations. Operates forklift to pull outbound and customer pick-up orders & unload inbound deliveries. Ensures accuracy and quality of product being shipped/delivered. Properly packages and prepares product for shipment in such a way that it does not get damaged on assigned shipping methods. Performs daily cycle counts to monitor inventory accuracy. Participate in the company's annual cycle count program and assist in regular inventories. Maintains warehouse and product yard organization and cleanliness following 5S standards. Works with production to effectively accomplish department tasks and utilize labor efficiently. Actively support 6 Sigma and continuous improvement activities. Works overtime and shift work as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and logistics best practices. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills. Good organizational and coordinating skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Education, Experience (required except where noted) High school diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a logistics environment. Previous forklift operator experience. Intermediate computer skills and experience using handheld scanners. Previous experience working in D365 or other ERP software preferred.
