Job Description
Shipping Clerk We are seeking an organized and dependable Shipping Clerk to support daily shipping and receiving operations for a local manufacturing company. This position is responsible for preparing shipping documentation, coordinating outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring orders are properly packaged and ready for pickup. Responsibilities Prepare packing lists, pick lists, bills of lading (BOLs), and other shipping documents Verify quantities and ensure cartons, pallets, and packages are properly labeled before shipment Process inventory transactions and material/location adjustments Prepare and print customer and carrier shipping labels Process FedEx, UPS, and other carrier documentation Coordinate carrier pickups and expedited shipments Assist with packaging and preparing products for shipment as needed Process receiving paperwork for incoming materials and outside services Review daily shipping requirements and prioritize outgoing orders Verify shipping paperwork for accuracy and completeness Communicate with appropriate departments regarding potential shipping delays Maintain organized and accurate shipping and receiving records Qualifications Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred Experience preparing shipping documents and bills of lading is a plus Familiarity with FedEx, UPS, and other shipping systems Basic computer and data-entry skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities Ability to communicate effectively with internal departments and outside carriers Ability to assist with packing and general warehouse duties as needed
