Requirements:
Receiving & Verification:
Unloading trucks, checking shipments against packing slips/POs, inspecting coils for damage. Checking material to make sure it is the correct spec, using micrometers and or tape measure.
Material Handling:
Operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or other equipment to move, stack, and stage coils.
Documentation:
Completing receiving reports, updating inventory systems, and processing paperwork.
Storage & Staging:
Placing coils in designated storage areas and preparing them for production lines.
Inventory Control:
Performing physical counts (cycle counts) of coils.
Safety & Maintenance:
Conducting daily equipment inspections (cranes, chains), cleaning work areas, and adhering to safety protocols.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Experience with heavy machinery (forklift/crane operation) is often required or beneficial. Ability to read work orders and follow instructions. Attention to detail for quality checks and record-keeping. Ability to read tape measure and micrometers. Strong understanding of safety procedures for handling heavy materials.
