Job DescriptionJob Summary

The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for the safe and efficient receipt, storage, handling, and shipment of raw chemical materials, packaged goods, and finished blends at our chemical blending plant. This hourly role involves verifying incoming deliveries against manifests, preparing hazardous and non-hazardous products for safe transport, operating material-handling equipment (such as forklifts), and accurately maintaining inventory and transaction records in SAP while strictly adhering to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) and DOT regulations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Examine contents and compare with records (manifests, invoices, orders) to verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipmentsPrepare shipping documentation, work orders, bills of lading, and route materials using appropriate shipping methodsRecord shipment data (weight, charges, damages) and correspond with carriers and internal teams to resolve discrepancies or non-conformancePack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for safe transportReceive, count, store, and maintain inventory stock in designated warehouse or storage locationsVerify inventory calculations against physical counts and investigate/correct errors in SAPDeliver and route materials to departments using forklifts, hand trucks, or other work devicesMaintain shipping materials, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure cleanliness and safety complianceStrictly adhere to and support all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and DOT rules and policiesPerform other related duties as assigned for optimal site operation

QualificationsWho You Are:

Safety-ConsciousDemonstrates an uncompromising commitment to following strict EHS and DOT regulations, prioritizing the safe handling and transport of chemical materials at all timesDetail-OrientedMaintains high accuracy in inventory management, record-keeping in SAP, and verifying shipment manifests to ensure zero discrepancies in chemical processingReliable and EfficientCapable of working independently to meet demanding deadlines and shipping schedules while consistently operating material-handling equipment with precision

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Working knowledge of SAPGreat attention to detailExcellent communication and documentation skillsStrong mathematical skillsSuperb computer skills

Education & Experience:

RequiredHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum of 6 months of experience working in a chemical manufacturing warehouse environment with hazardous materialsPreferredAssociate Degree (two-year college or technical school)2 years of experience with hazardous materialsMinimum of 1 year of analytical testing experiencePrior forklift driving experience - highly desired
