Job Description

Shipping & Receiving Clerk (Inventory Specialist)

Location:

712 Maple Street, Wapakoneta, Ohio.

Reports to:

General Manager or Foreman as directed

Type:

Full-Time, [On-site] Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to manage the accurate and timely flow of materials through our facility. This role is responsible for receiving inbound shipments, preparing outbound freight, staging trucks for daily routes, and maintaining accurate, real-time inventory records using our warehouse management/tracking software. Dispatch scheduling is handled by the foreman — this role focuses on execution. Key Responsibilities Receive incoming shipments; verify contents against purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading; inspect for damage or discrepancies and report issues promptly Prepare, pack, label, and stage outgoing shipments for accuracy and on-time departure Stage and load company delivery trucks as directed by the foreman's daily dispatch schedule Operate a forklift as necessary to move, load, and organize materials Track all materials and inventory in real time using the company's inventory management software; update item locations, quantities, and statuses throughout the day Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits; investigate and resolve inventory variances Maintain organized storage areas, staging lanes, and dock space Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and forklift operation guidelines Communicate with purchasing, operations, and drivers regarding delays, shortages, or damaged goods Required Qualifications Proficiency using inventory tracking / warehouse management software — ability to learn our system quickly Able to lift items up to 75 lbs frequently and safely Valid forklift certification OR demonstrated forklift experience OR Ability to operate forklift with training Strong attention to detail — errors in counts, labels, or paperwork are not acceptable in this role Demonstrated, verifiable work ethic: reliable attendance, on-time completion of tasks, and a track record of accountability High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of shipping/receiving or warehouse experience Experience with barcode scanning and real-time inventory reconciliation Physical Requirements Frequent lifting up to 75 lbs Prolonged standing/walking on concrete surfaces Forklift operation as needed Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures Compensation & Benefits Pay Range $41,600 to $58,240 Depending on Experience. Medical Insurance Available for Full-Time employees, 100% of premiums paid by employer
