They pack the goods in shipping containers, develop mailing labels and shipping documents, and ensure that all orders have been filled correctly.

Essential Functions of Shipping and Receiving:

Follow established safety rules and regulations Maintain a safe and clean workspace Verify quantity, customers, and part numbers of received packages Remove parts from the crate/box and add the part numbers to the received packaging. Add the received parts to the receiving logbook Tag the parts and take photos of the part following the unboxing of materials Add parts to shelving and turn paperwork into planning Once the part is verified to ship, correctly palletized, box, or crate the parts using bubble wrap, foam, and oil as needed. Fill out a Bill of Lading for each part being shipped, including one for the truck company and one located on the box/crate. Keep aerospace and industrial parts segregated Frequent use of a forklift/hoist to lift heavy parts Frequent use of a die grinder and a hand grinder for cleaning parts. Frequent use of circular saws, jigsaws, etc. Technical Training Required for the Shipping and Receiving position: Reading and filling out the Job Traveler Job Traveler Data entry into the Envision system Use of proper personal protective equipment Use of lifting equipment such as forklifts and hoists How to properly package a part Training on tooling such as a die grinder, hand grinder, nail guns, circular saws, jigsaws, etc.
