Job Summary The Shipping & Receiving Specialist performs clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping outbound goods and coordinating incoming shipments. They direct and coordinate the activities of other workers engaged in handling goods to be shipped or received, ensuring complete compliance with the facility's transportation and delivery plans. This position reports directly to the Assistant Contract Manager. Primary Duties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review. Maintain the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and assume primary clerical responsibility for all database updates related to outbound quantities. Work in direct synchronization with the Warehouse Specialist to validate available inventory quantities and manage space availability in the shipping bays. Verify that outbound orders are accurately filled by comparing items and quantities gathered for shipment against original manifests, invoices, or DA Form 3161 documents. Interface with the STORES database to review Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs) and authorize transport clearance codes. Ensure that all outbound shipments are properly packaged, palletized, split case labeled and safely loaded into transporting vehicles. Additional Responsibilities Prepare and maintain accurate records of goods shipped and received, including manifests, bills of lading, and storage receipts. Check incoming and outgoing loads for damaged goods, recording any inventory leaks, broken seals, or short supplies. Direct and coordinate the workflow of Order Fillers assigned to the shipping docks and staging lanes. Coordinate directly with Medium Truckdrivers to verify route manifests and safety seals before regional state armory drops. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance; reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Other duties as assigned. Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
