The Shipping Manager is a key role in our company! At the heart of our fulfillment operations, you will be responsible for all the processes, products, and most importantly PEOPLE that make our outbound shipping successful. You will work through all phases of the shipping process. You will order supplies and stock finished goods to setup the shipping team for success with picking and packing orders. You will also pick and pack with the shipping team to identify needs and determine efficiency gains and setting the shipping standards for uniformity. You will also assist the General Manager enforcing all company policies. Canidates applying should be seeking full time employment.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in building a great company and business that disrupts the traditional candle industry and embrace change and transparency
• Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.
• Embodies the culture, values, and tenets of Fontana Candle Co. and full support of our purpose, goal, and key objectives.
• Maintain confidential information that you may hear or see while performing your daily tasks
• Manage the shipping department team of two people to six people depending on seasonality and volume
• Adhere to and enforce company policy and directives from the General Manager and Ownership
• Coach the shipping team with an eye on efficiency and achieving metrics including "Packages/Items Shipped Per Hour Worked"
• Communicate product and staffing needs to the General Manager and production team.
• Packing items into cases to be received into inventory, or shipped by wholesale
• Picks items to fulfill both wholesale and ecommerce orders
• Material replenishment, box making, and corrugate cutting
• Opening and closing the building as needed.

Preparation, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Detail oriented and self-managing
• Attention to detail is a must, especially when completing very repetitive tasks
• Driven personality
• Must be able to work well under deadline pressure and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of interacting with other employees, departments. Professionalism in the workplace is a must.
• Strong bias towards safety with familiarity with process and personnel safety systems.
• Demonstrate ability to meet production goals while maintaining quality standards.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of employees within the organization

Software and Technology Requirements:

• Skulabs/Shopify shipping/inventory
• Asana task management/communication

Qualifications:

• Minimum 18 years of age
• A minimum of a High School diploma is required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to solve and resolve problems in a calm, professional, and courteous manner.
• A highly self-motivated and ethical individual
• The desire to take great pride and care in every product you make and every order you fill!

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

As a small, start-up company, we operate with an "all hands on deck" mentality. We all pitch in to get the jobs done as needed. We have a strong team environment, and consider our employees part of our "Fontana family." Position requires day-to-day multi-tasking as well as managing multiple projects simultaneously with frequent change in direction and priority.

• This job operates in a professional light manufacturing and office setting.
• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, printers
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, speak, and listen.

This employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time, walk constantly, use hands or feet, reach with hands and arms. This employee will be required to lift up to 50 pounds to shoulder height. Pay:

Starts at $23 an hour, with a 30-day probation period
