Shipping and Receiving Clerk - Naperville, IL 7AM-3:30PM
MONDAY-FRIDAY
$22-$25/hr Job Description The Shipping and Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in supporting production operations by overseeing inventory control, order management, and cross-functional communication. This position is pivotal in ensuring materials are available, orders are on time, and customer commitments are met, directly impacting manufacturing efficiency and on-time delivery performance. Responsibilities Partner closely with the Production Leader to manage day-to-day material flow and production priorities. Maintain and manage inventory control using the SPX (MSRP) system. Build and release project-type orders, monitor stock levels, and trigger automatic replenishment requests as needed. Ensure system accuracy for inventory on hand. Manage manufacturing order control, including creating and tracking manual pick-list orders and performing manual cycle counts. Collaborate with Purchasing to confirm parts availability and lead times, ensuring replacement POs are issued when needed. Coordinate component and replacement part orders, working with Shipping & Receiving teams. Work closely with Engineering on custom-engineered orders to confirm correct parts are received on time. Initiate outgoing orders and coordinate logistics, scheduling trucks and shipments, and entering shipping details. Act as a resource for the Shipping & Receiving team to help resolve material or order issues. Communicate effectively with Outside Sales and Accounting regarding order status, delays, or discrepancies. Operate in environments aligned with ISO 9001 and ISO quality systems. Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Interface daily with Market Manager, Team Service Coordinator, and Shipping & Receiving team. Collaborate with 15-18 cross-functional team members to ensure clear priorities and urgent orders are completed and shipped on time. Essential Skills Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows and material flow. Experience with ERP/MRP systems is preferred. High attention to detail and sense of urgency. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable working cross-functionally and resolving issues independently. The role is based in their prototyping center, working closely with Engineering to machine products under consideration for production. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Naperville, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
