Shipping Specialist Job Description:

The Shipping Specialist is responsible for accurately pulling and preparing customer orders for shipment. This position operates in a fast-paced, non-climate-controlled environment where attention to detail and accuracy are critical. The role also includes cross-training to back up the Shipping Lead as needed.

• Pull orders based on pick tickets and verify the accuracy of parts and quantities.
• Pack, palletize, and label shipments for outgoing orders.
• Verify order quantities, product selections, and shipping information before shipment
• Enter shipping details into company systems and update order statuses.
• Coordinate shipments with carriers and ensure compliance with shipping requirements
• Stage and organize orders for shipment and delivery
• Assist with inventory movement and warehouse organization
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse, including routine sweeping and housekeeping duties
• Communicate effectively with warehouse, purchasing, customer support, and sales teams regarding shipment status and order needs
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and warehouse best practices
• Assist with other shipping or warehouse duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical warehouse tasks throughout the workday in a non-air-conditioned warehouse environment.
• Basic computer skills, including data entry and familiarity with shipping software.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred:

Previous warehouse, shipping, logistics, or distribution experience Experience using warehouse management, inventory, or shipping software Forklift experience (or willingness to be trained) Valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Work Environment:

Work is performed primarily in a warehouse environment Experience using LTL carrier websites or freight booking portals. Exposure to varying warehouse temperatures and conditions Use of warehouse equipment, carts, pallet jacks, and shipping equipment Forklift certification or experience (a plus, not required).
