Job Summary:
The shipping and receiving technician accurately unloads, receives and accounts for incoming material and goods to the manufacturing plant and is responsible for unloading trucks, verifying shipments and conducting electronic receipts of goods/materials into the Epicor software system.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
Shipping and Receiving Technician Unload trucks at the dock, using forklift, 2-wheeler or pallet jack
Unpack and examine incoming shipments
Check off items on packing slip by comparing to purchase order
Matches items to job numbers and distributes materials to the appropriate department in a timely manner
Continually meets the demands of incoming shipments completing all duties timely
Maintain and file required documents, packing lists, purchase orders
Enter receipt data into Epicor system
Daily interaction with inventory departments, purchasing and supervisors
Backup to some Shipping Department duties
Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrates good listening skills
General cleaning in the area
Obey the safety standards of ACS and follow local, state, and federal regulations
Responsible for any other tasks that may arise
Work Environmental & Physical Demand:
May stand for long periods of up to 12 hours.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively, as well as frequent twisting and bending, to meet fast paced work demands
Work in various adverse conditions such as tight or enclosed spaces, heights and extreme temperatures. May work inside or outside to complete work assignments. Position requires exposure to dust and dirt.
Follow safety standards in working with multiple services, tools and equipment.
Minimum Requirements/Experience:
Must have a minimum of 6 months experience in a shop/production environment
Must have at least 1-year related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by employer
Ability to safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or other lifting equipment
Functional knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Must pass a drug screen and background check for employment
