Job Summary Better Baseball Houston (Katy) is opening Fall 2026 — join the founding team. The Inventory & Fulfillment Associate supports the day-to-day execution of Better Baseball's inventory, warehouse, and fulfillment operations. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, cycle counting and auditing, receiving, inventory movement, replenishment, and order fulfillment. Success requires attention to detail, urgency, reliability, and a willingness to take ownership of the work in front of you — following established processes, using scanning technology consistently, and working collaboratively to ensure inventory and customer orders are handled accurately and efficiently. A successful associate is someone the team can depend on: inventory is where the system says it is, orders leave the building accurately and on time, and when something is wrong you communicate it and see it through to resolution.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with some weekend availability as business needs require. Reports to Warehouse/Operations Management. Key Responsibilities Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently Scan and verify products throughout the fulfillment process to ensure order accuracy Perform routine cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy Research inventory discrepancies and assist in identifying and correcting root causes Verify physical inventory quantities and locations against system records Receive inbound vendor shipments and verify products and quantities against receiving documentation Put away received inventory into designated warehouse locations accurately and promptly Replenish inventory as needed to support fulfillment and retail operations Execute inventory transfers and other product movements accurately using company systems and RF scanning equipment Identify and communicate inventory, receiving, or fulfillment discrepancies when discovered Maintain accurate product and inventory locations throughout the facility Assist with physical inventory counts and larger inventory audit initiatives as needed Keep warehouse aisles, workstations, storage areas, and backstock organized Assist with loading, unloading, pallet breakdown, and other general warehouse activities Follow established safety procedures and proper material-handling practices Support other warehouse, inventory, and operational priorities as business needs require Qualifications Previous warehouse, fulfillment, inventory, shipping, receiving, or retail stockroom experience is preferred but not required Forklift certification and/or previous powered industrial truck experience is preferred but not required Comfortable learning and using handheld scanners and warehouse software Strong attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of inventory accuracy Ability to follow established processes consistently and investigate discrepancies methodically Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team Dependable, punctual, and able to manage assigned responsibilities with limited supervision Willingness to learn multiple areas of inventory and fulfillment operations as business needs change Physical requirements: stand and walk for extended periods; regularly lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise; safely lift up to 50 pounds independently; bend, reach, squat, and perform repetitive warehouse tasks; work safely around forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and shelving
