Job Summary The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, receiving incoming deliveries, and maintaining accurate inventory records. This role ensures products are handled safely, documented correctly, and delivered or stored in a timely manner. Key Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips Unload, sort, and store materials in designated locations Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, labeling, and staging orders Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records using manual logs or inventory systems Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, or forklifts (if certified) Coordinate with carriers, drivers, and internal departments to resolve shipping issues Monitor inventory levels and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies Keep the shipping and receiving area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards Follow company policies, safety procedures, and quality guidelines Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience is a plus Basic computer skills and ability to use inventory software Ability to read shipping documents and follow written instructions Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move packages (often up to 40-50 lbs) Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods Comfortable working in a warehouse or loading dock environment Skills & Competencies Time management and reliability Teamwork and communication skills Problem-solving ability Safety-conscious mindset Work Environment Warehouse, distribution center, or stockroom setting May involve exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures
