Job Overview Summary:

This position is responsible for the shipping, receiving, inspecting, and distributing of product, supplies and equipment to customers, vendors and production departments by performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment: Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

• 2. Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
• 3. Packages product adequately to prevent damage during transportation and ensures packages are correctly labeled and all corresponding paperwork and computer records are completed correctly.
• 4. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
• 5. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• 6. Ensures that parts are correct according to the print and/or traveler.
• 7. Maintains an awareness of the daily shipments scheduled and alerts production to potential late shipments.
• 8. Responsible for the proper completion of all manufacturing, inspection, shipping and receiving documentation as required by company policies.
• 9. Sets up work area for efficient processing and maximum throughput of jobs.
• 10. Reads, understands, and implements all relevant information and instructions included on job travelers and technical drawings.
• 11. Identifies visual and dimensional defects and ensures that potential problems are effectively communicated to the department lead or supervisor.
• 12. Directs others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments, where applicable.

Language Ability:

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, M1 SFE Shop Floor, CNC Interface Software, 3rd Party Shipping Software, data entry and the internet.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates and Licenses:

• Valid driver's license

Forklift License Equipment:

• Forklift
• Pallet jack
• Overhead crane
• Shrink wrap wheel
• Various hand and power tools
• Caliper, tape measure, height gage, and other measuring devices

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:

• Interpret and create packing slips, purchase orders, bills of lading, and other relevant documents, and enter related information into the database
• Basic understanding of the safety limitations of department equipment
• Must be capable of measuring/estimating weight and using that information to calculate the cost of shipping, and judge container quantities
• Oral and written communication skills; Must be able to intelligently represent the company to customers, vendors and their agents
• Ability to work with others in a team oriented environment

• Ability to perform beyond the minimum job requirements and expectations

Pay:

$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
