PJs Furniture & Mattress (Formerly Mattress Clearance Center of NWA) is a locally owned furniture and mattress retailer serving Northwest Arkansas. We are known for providing a friendly, straightforward shopping experience and for taking excellent care of our customers before, during, and after the sale. Our team works closely across the showroom, fulfillment center, and delivery operation, so communication, ownership, and follow-through matter in every position.POSITION SUMMARY
The Fulfillment Center Manager & Sales Associate leads the daily operation and organization of our fulfillment center while also supporting showroom sales and customer service. The warehouse and fulfillment responsibilities are a major part of the position and include incoming merchandise, inventory accuracy, order preparation, customer pickups, delivery coordination, and maintaining an organized facility. This person will also spend scheduled time in the showroom, helping customers select furniture and mattresses, providing product knowledge, managing individual sales, and maintaining communication with customers throughout the purchasing process. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between hands-on warehouse work and professional customer-facing sales responsibilities. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and wants meaningful responsibility within a growing local business. The role requires a person who can keep operations moving without constant direction while still contributing positively to the customer experience and overall performance of the store. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESWarehouse & Fulfillment Operations- Lead the day-to-day organization, workflow, and general operation of the fulfillment center.
- Coordinate incoming shipments and truck unloads, including communication with drivers and verification of merchandise received.
- Maintain accurate inventory and order records, promptly documenting damaged, missing, or incorrect merchandise.
- Prepare, inspect, and stage customer orders for scheduled pickups and deliveries, and assist the delivery team with loading when needed.
- Coordinate customer pickups, warranty returns, and merchandise being returned to manufacturers or vendors.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment and communicate maintenance needs to management. Sales & Customer Experience
- Assist customers in the showroom with furniture, mattress, and related-product purchases.
- Learn and communicate product features, options, and benefits in a clear, helpful, and low-pressure manner.
- Manage individual sales from the initial customer conversation through purchase and appropriate follow-up.
- Respond professionally to customer questions, messages, order updates, and service needs during scheduled shifts.
- Contribute consistently to individual sales goals and the overall performance of the store. Showroom, Brand & Team Support
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and customer-ready showroom throughout the workday.
- Assist with staging, merchandising, floor resets, moving floor models, and setting up new merchandise.
- Support occasional store events, promotions, product photography, videos, and other marketing activities.
- Participate in team meetings and training, and contribute ideas that improve customer service and operational efficiency.
- Serve as a reliable communication link between the fulfillment center, showroom, management, and delivery team.
QUALIFICATIONS & WORK STYLE
Experience in warehouse operations, inventory, fulfillment, furniture, retail sales, or customer service is preferred. Because this is a blended operational and customer-facing role, the strongest candidate will combine practical problem-solving skills with professional communication and a genuine willingness to help customers.- Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage several priorities at once.

- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and availability for a full-time retail schedule, including weekends and key sales periods.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The following physical activities are essential to the warehouse and fulfillment functions of this position and must be performed safely, with or without reasonable accommodation:- Frequently lift, carry, push, pull, and move merchandise weighing 75 pounds or more.
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the warehouse and showroom.
- Assist with unloading, staging, loading, moving, and assembling furniture and mattresses.
- Work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment during both hot and cold weather.
- Transition during the same shift between physical warehouse duties and professional showroom responsibilities.
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
- Full-time position scheduled for approximately 40 hours per week across five days.
- Weekend availability and availability during important retail sales periods are required.
- Estimated total annual compensation is approximately $34,000-$45,000.
- Compensation combines base pay with performance-based sales commission; actual earnings depend on individual sales performance.
