We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager who understands the importance of organization, employee development, process consistency, and accountability. This position requires a hands-on leader who can establish clear expectations, train employees on proper procedures, and ensure those procedures are consistently followed. Position Overview The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Phoenix warehouse, including receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, employee supervision, equipment maintenance, and workplace safety. Working directly with the Operations Manager, this position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) that support accurate inventory, efficient warehouse operations, and dependable customer service. We are looking for someone who understands that consistent results begin with clearly defined processes, properly trained employees, and accountability. The Warehouse Manager must be capable of managing daily operations while identifying opportunities to improve existing procedures, developing employees, and maintaining an organized and safe working environment. Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse Operations Oversee daily receiving, put-away, picking, packing, staging, and shipping activities. Establish and maintain consistent procedures for each stage of warehouse operations. Assign daily responsibilities and communicate work priorities to warehouse employees. Ensure customer orders are properly pulled, inspected, and verified before leaving the warehouse. Maintain organized inventory locations, clearly labeled products, and designated work areas. Coordinate inventory movement between warehouse locations as needed. Work with the Operations Manager to identify workflow issues and implement practical solutions. Ensure employees have the necessary tools, equipment, and information to complete their assigned work. Inventory Management Maintain inventory accuracy through established receiving, inventory movement, and cycle-counting procedures. Ensure all inventory transactions are accurately recorded in the company's inventory management system. Verify that incoming products are inspected, counted, and properly received before being placed into inventory. Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify their causes, and implement corrective procedures to prevent recurrence. Maintain proper product labeling, inventory locations, and stock organization. Coordinate with Purchasing regarding inventory shortages, damaged products, and receiving discrepancies. Ensure inventory adjustments are properly documented and communicated through the appropriate approval process. Employee Leadership & Development Supervise daily warehouse activities and provide clear direction to warehouse personnel. Establish defined responsibilities and expectations for each warehouse position. Train employees on established SOPs, proper product handling, inventory procedures, equipment operation, and workplace safety. Verify employee understanding and competency before assigning independent responsibilities. Monitor adherence to established procedures and address deviations through coaching, retraining, and corrective action when necessary. Conduct regular employee evaluations and communicate individual development needs. Maintain employee schedules and coordinate staffing requirements with the Operations Manager. Promote a work environment where employees take ownership of their responsibilities, communicate issues promptly, and support one another. Process Management & Continuous Improvement The Warehouse Manager will play an important role in establishing and maintaining the operating standards of our warehouse.

Responsibilities include:

Work with the Operations Manager to develop, document, and maintain warehouse SOPs. Establish consistent processes for receiving, inventory movement, order fulfillment, quality control, and shipping. Train employees on new or revised procedures and verify proper implementation. Conduct routine reviews of warehouse activities to ensure established procedures are being followed. Identify recurring errors, determine their underlying causes, and recommend procedural improvements. Implement and maintain 5S workplace organization standards. Monitor warehouse performance using established company KPIs, including inventory accuracy, order accuracy, delivery accuracy, and inspection compliance. Use KPI findings to identify process deficiencies and determine where additional training, procedural changes, or resources are needed. Our expectation is not simply to identify when performance falls short, but to understand why the process failed and take the necessary steps to prevent the issue from recurring. Safety & Equipment Management Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse in accordance with company policies and applicable safety requirements. Ensure employees are properly trained and authorized to operate forklifts, boom equipment, and other warehouse machinery. Verify that required daily equipment inspections and weekly vehicle inspections are completed and documented. Identify workplace hazards and ensure they are addressed promptly. Maintain clear walkways, emergency exits, electrical panel access, and designated material storage areas. Ensure employees consistently use appropriate personal protective equipment. Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and incident investigations. Work with the Operations Manager to establish corrective actions and prevent recurring safety concerns. Logistics & Customer Support Coordinate daily warehouse activities with the Operations Manager to support scheduled deliveries and customer pickups. Ensure orders are properly prepared, inspected, and staged according to the established delivery schedule. Communicate inventory shortages, order discrepancies, and potential delays to the appropriate departments. Work with Customer Service and Purchasing to ensure accurate information is available regarding order status and product availability. Coordinate with drivers to ensure delivery vehicles are properly loaded, secured, and prepared for scheduled routes. Address warehouse-related customer concerns by identifying the cause and implementing corrective procedures. Qualifications Required Five or more years of warehouse leadership or management experience. Strong understanding of inventory control, receiving, order fulfillment, and shipping procedures. Experience supervising, training, and developing warehouse employees. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain standard operating procedures. Working knowledge of warehouse safety requirements and OSHA regulations. Experience using inventory management and warehouse reporting systems. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to establish clear expectations and hold employees accountable for following established procedures. Preferred Experience in wholesale distribution, building materials, glass, hardware, or construction-related industries. Experience implementing and maintaining 5S workplace organization standards. Experience managing inventory across multiple warehouse locations. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Forklift certified. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform warehouse-related activities throughout the workday. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely work around warehouse equipment, glass products, and other materials. Ability to perform duties in an active warehouse environment.
