Employment Type Direct Hire Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Air Export Warehouse Manager for our partner, an established organization within the international freight forwarding and logistics industry. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity that is 100% onsite in the Los Angeles, California area.

Compensation:

Approximately $31-$36 per hour, depending on experience

Overtime:

40 hours guaranteed with overtime eligibility

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Air Export Warehouse Manager will lead the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced international air export warehouse. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing warehouse staff, coordinating cargo movement, managing workflow and staffing, and ensuring shipments are processed safely, accurately, and on schedule. The ideal candidate brings strong warehouse leadership experience, preferably within air cargo, freight forwarding, air export, or international logistics, and is comfortable working alongside the team when operational support is needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead daily air export warehouse operations, including cargo receiving, inspection, screening, staging, consolidation, ULD build-up, and preparation for airline tender.

Supervise and support warehouse personnel, including workflow coordination, staffing, scheduling, training, productivity, and overtime management.

Ensure compliance with applicable air cargo security, Dangerous Goods/HAZMAT, bonded cargo, chain-of-custody, and workplace safety requirements.

Coordinate with airlines, ground handling teams, transportation providers, vendors, and internal partners to keep cargo moving efficiently and meet critical shipping deadlines.

Monitor inventory accuracy, cargo discrepancies, equipment utilization, safety, and overall operational performance while identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.

Maintain a hands-on presence in the warehouse, assisting with forklift and material-handling activities when necessary and stepping in to help the team resolve operational challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience within air export, air cargo, freight forwarding, international logistics, or a related warehouse environment.

Demonstrated experience leading warehouse teams and managing workflow, staffing, productivity, and time-sensitive operational priorities.

Knowledge of warehouse safety and compliance requirements; experience with Dangerous Goods, HAZMAT, cargo screening, bonded cargo, or other air cargo regulations is highly valued.

Ability and willingness to operate a forklift and occasionally lift approximately 40-45 pounds when operational support is needed.

Ability to work Monday through Friday, approximately 1:00 PM-10:30/11:00 PM, with flexibility for overtime and occasional later hours based on operational needs, and successfully complete required pre-employment and security screening.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This full-time, direct-hire opportunity offers approximately $31-$36 per hour, depending on experience, air cargo expertise, certifications, and overall qualifications. This is an hourly, non-exempt position with a guaranteed 40-hour workweek and overtime eligibility based on operational needs. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance with family/dependent coverage available; PTO accrual; a 401(k) with a 50% employer match; quarterly performance-based bonus opportunities; potential year-end company bonus; and a steel-toe boot reimbursement program. Bonus amounts vary based on company and branch performance. This position is 100% onsite in the Los Angeles, California area and works approximately 1:00 PM-10:30/11:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with flexibility for overtime and occasional extended hours.
