Job Description

Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership & Strategy Develop and implement warehouse strategies, SOPs, and operational standards to improve accuracy, efficiency, and productivity Forecast space, labor, and inventory needs based on seasonal HVAC/plumbing demand and company growth Design and optimize warehouse layouts, workflows, and material flow processes Evaluate operational risks and implement plans to minimize disruptions, delays, and safety concerns Team Leadership & Management Oversee Warehouse Supervisors, Leads, and staff, ensuring clear roles, expectations, and accountability Lead hiring decisions, performance reviews, and corrective actions when needed Determine staffing levels, schedules, and overtime based on operational needs Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement Inventory & Materials Management Own the accuracy of the warehouse inventory system, including cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation Manage HVAC and plumbing inventory, ensuring technicians and installers have the materials needed for daily operations Analyze inventory trends and partner with procurement to set reorder points and maintain optimal stock levels Investigate discrepancies, supplier issues, and implement long-term corrective actions Ensure proper handling, storage, and traceability of all materials and equipment Process Improvement & Technology Evaluate and improve warehouse processes to reduce errors and increase efficiency Lead implementation and optimization of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and inventory tools Track and report key performance metrics including inventory accuracy, productivity, and fulfillment timelines Partner with leadership on long-term operational improvements and scalability Cross-Department Collaboration Partner with Service, Install, Procurement, and Finance teams to support job readiness and customer commitments Communicate proactively regarding material availability, delays, or scheduling impacts Represent warehouse operations in leadership meetings and contribute to company-wide planning Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company policies Lead safety audits, review incidents, and implement corrective actions Maintain equipment certifications, documentation, and vendor compliance Promote and enforce a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment Qualifications 5+ years of warehouse leadership experience (REQUIRED) HVAC and/or plumbing industry experience strongly preferred (highly encouraged) Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics, inventory systems, and workflow design Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and drive results Experience implementing process improvements with measurable outcomes Proficiency with WMS platforms and inventory management systems Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational execution Interpersonal Qualities Customer-first mindset—supporting both internal teams and external partners Strong relationship-building and communication skills Exceptional problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities Highly organized with the ability to move quickly while maintaining attention to detail High level of integrity and accountability What Sets You Apart Background working for an HVAC or plumbing service company Understanding of technician needs, truck stock, and job readiness Ability to operate with urgency in a fast-paced service environment We are an equal opportunity employer.
